The Model 40 Headphone Pre Amp, while specifically designed for headphone applications can also be used as a main system amplification stage or to boost signals coming from the relatively low levels of a guitar effects pedals. Taking advantage of the fast slew rates (9v/MICROsecond) inherent in the famed 5532A Op Amp, the M40 will maintain super quiet, low distortion (.001% THD at 10v p2p) response across a 20-20Khz freq band even at high SPL output levels.

A mode SELECT switch determines whether Input A is routed to both the L and R side for mono application or stereo operation in which the A input is dedicated to the left side and the B input sent to the right.
